‘If a Tree Falls in a Forest’ looks into the contextualisation of objects as artwork, an understanding of the concepts behind readymades coined by Marcel Duchamp. Once we alter the context of objects such as the hoover (Jeff Koons), they begin to exist in a different way, not just as a physical commodity. The title relates to this idea in that it refers to whether an object really can exist outside of how we understand it.

This piece is an insight into the behaviours that occur within large corporations, in particular in reference to climate change. Many companies continue to use policies which have a detrimental effect on the climate and it appears that a group mentality inside the corporations occurs. The title refers to the silence of those who disagree on the inside. Even if they disagree, they feel as though others do not, therefore they maintain there silence.

'The Talking Cure' looks to highlight the importance of talking to one another as a way of alleviating mental anxieties. This was a notion coined largely by psychotherapist Sigmund Freud, with the depicted figures surrounded by paintings by Lucien Freud, an homage to his grandfather and his findings.

'You Can Only Be So Happy, But You Could Be Dead’, is a piece centred around our fear of  our own mortality and people’s obsessive need to extend their life span artificially, even if these means cause other setbacks, such as depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts, an interesting paradox.

 ‘There One Minute, Gone the Next’, a comment on mortality and how those we love can suddenly become no more than a memory. The art historical references here, such as Warhol’s ‘Marilyn’, relate to this form of being alive and relevant and then suddenly no more than an intangible thought.
