Dusk on the Pond is a ceramic form of a painting, The first ceramic, handmade form mosaic that I created. Depicting the dark blue colours of the water as the sun sets. The andemento of the tesserae   show the flow of the water and waterlilies floating on the surface.

The Garden as the light shines in our eyes and the shapes seem blurry and soft. The goemetric facets examining the colours of light and the garden on a sunny day, Daisies are visible but in a hybrid form. Memories of a sunny day wandering in a garden, relaxing and care free.

Banksias depicts a walk through the Australian bush. The colours of the leaves and flowers as the light shines through a gap in the trees. The geometric facets represent the colours of light and the plants of Australia. this abstract landscape evokes feelings as light shines through into our eyes.

The Sea 85 cm x 105 cm
The deep blue of the sea is so calming. This abstract, hybrid scene examines the shades of blue and aqua in the sea, evoking the viewers own memories of the waves and sounds of the sea. It is mediative and calm. As the viewer looks up to the horizon the sea blends into the sky. the shapes get smaller into the distance. The viewer moves closer to examine the textures and patterns imprinted into the clay. The mind is calm and relaxed as the viewers thoughts are grounded by the calm thoughts of the sea and the blue colours.

The Sea 

Flowering Gums 120 x 120 cm
This abstract, hybrid landscape depicts flowering gums in the bush of Australia. Where is this, what is this questions for the viewer. I've had this feeling as I've come to the clearing and looked into the distance. The colours of eucalyptus leaves, the tree trunk and the pink flowers themselves.
As your mind tries to make sense of this landscape your mind is engaged in a mediative state with no cares or worries.

Flowering Gums

"Dusk on the Pond" examines light setting on a pond with purple hues as the sun goes down.
The light is broken into fractals of geometric shapes depicting as abstract view of a pond with waterlilies sitting up just as the sun sets. The geometric, hybrid landscape reminds you of somewhere you've seen before yet not quite, allowing the viewer to go to their own memories. A mediative and relaxing feeling is created the viewers mind examining the colours nestled next to each other.

Dusk on the Pond 150 cm x 150 cm

Midday on the pond is  an abstract landscape made of porcelain. This wall art  is based on a bright sunny day with beautiful blue water and waterlilies floating on the surface of the pond. Each piece is hand painted and glazed. It is organic and looks soft. Layers are bigger at the bottom and smaller at the top to create distance.
There are patterns imprinted and also painted on some of the tessera. This aim of this work is to relax the viewer and take them to a time sitting by the pond, but also entice them to inspect the work closer to see the texture and patterns within the work. It is designed to be "grounding" and mediative.

Torn- Midday on the Pond

Torn is a wall mosaic made of thousands of hand torn ceramic tesserae. These pieces are laid, hand coloured and glazed to be soft and to have the feeling of fog coming off the lake in the early morning.
It is designed to make you want to look closer at the pieces and be want to feel the texture of the work as it's soft organic feel helps your mind relax and make sense of this hybrid abstract landscape.
