Roanne O'Donnell

Process painter currently working in Scotland on the series of paintings and drawings, 'Surface Work'.

Born in St. Andrews, Scotland, in 1965, I studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art, moved to Barcelona to complete an Contemporary European Fine Art. After 18 years in Norway I now live and work in Sierra de Libar, Spain and Edinburgh, Scotland.

I have a rich professional life, working in the arts and exhibiting internationally. During my years in Norway I was active in the North Norwegian Artists' Union (Nord Norsk Bildende Kunstnere) and lectured in Drawing, Painting & Art History at Nordland College of Art and FIlm, Kabelvåg. I created and lead a three year art foundation equivalencey for students with special needs in collaboration with the Museum of Troms and Rå College of Higer education. As the Director of the Gallery of Northern Norway (Galleri NordNorge) I collaborated with the Northern Museum of Art and The National Museum, Oslo, exhibiting work by Paul McCarthy & Norway 10 designers, as well as giving exposure to emerging artists.
