grid: one page comic expo

GRID is our first one page comic expo . We offer a platform for creators to show their cartoon or comic to the general public. This exhibition will take place from June 21 to 30, 2024 in Edward in Ghent.

The name GRID refers to the 'boxes' with which many strips are constructed. We encourage play and experiment, and want to encourage artists to break the grid .

The GRID has a long history within the narrative image. It insinuates the passage of time and creates a world within which scenes and characters can unfold. For many years, the grid has provided a platform for comic strips. But for some the grid turned out to be too small. As explorers at the foot of the New Age, people began to break through the framework. Artists traveled the vast oceans of the page and the cartoon began to tear itself away from the comic.

With GRID, Pulp Deluxe offers starting cartoon and comic makers the opportunity to use the magazine as a means to share their story and show this story to the general public. Do you prefer to break with tradition or use the grid as a playing field to build your story? It is up to you to organize your white sheet and take us for a shock.
