Overview

Whitefish Bay, on the Door Peninsula in Wisconsin, has long been a creative haven for artists who are an important part of the local community and bring the process of creating art into daily life. Inspired by the history of the Dome House and the vibrant artistic community in Door County, the Al & Mickey Quinlan Residencygives an artist the opportunity to create work in a unique environment providing inspiration and solitude.

The Dome House Al & Mickey Quinlan Artist Residency is open to one artist residing in the Midwest working in the fine art mediums of drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and other mediums. The residency aims to provide the space and support to create work in an inspiring and unique location, in addition to providing opportunities for public access to an artist at work through public programming and educational content for the community. The Al & Mickey Quinlan Residency is an 8-week fall program created and led in partnership with the Miller Art Museum.
